Dry brush oil experiment
This was my fist attempt at a portrait using dry brush oil paint. I used grey pastel paper as a ground and painted the portrait with black and white oil paints using tiny amounts of paint lightly brushed on to the surface. Colour was added with coloured pencil.
I love this technique as it produces quite a dreamy look to the portraits whilst allowing me to add detail in certain areas. I can also make larger portraits much more quickly than I can using pencils.
